She was fascinated by the irrevocability of the species, never able to erase or regret. Since 1997, Pia has been a direct student of professor and calligraphy master Taisho Akahira, who lives in Tokyo. Today, Pia has a nidan (second-degree black belt) in calligraphy. In addition to traditional calligraphy, she has designed a number of book covers with illustrations inspired by calligraphy’s brushwork.

In September 2021, Pia had her first exhibition. During the spring of 2023 and 2024 she had her second and third exhibition invited to gallery Floras Rike at the Botanical Garden in Gothenburg. The exhibition showcased a wide repertoire: from traditional calligraphic works to more innovative collaborations with various artists working with wood, metal, ink drawings and watercolour.

The upcoming exhibition 27 April-18 May 2025 at gallery Floras Rike has the theme “The Five Elements” and display several limited edition Fine Arts Prints. I will also have a small shop with prints, post cards and t-shirts.

Here is the link to the Facebook event.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row local_scroll_id=”exhibition2025″][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/1122845955″ title=”Exhibition 2025″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row local_scroll_id=”exhibition2023″][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQcG8zjPdAM” title=”Exhibition 2023″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row el_class=”se-om-presentation”][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”se-five-elements”][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] Japanese calligraphy Pia Moberg became interested in Japanese calligraphy when she began studying Japanese in the late 1980s at the University of Gothenburg.
